A day in the life of an artist

I’m not a morning person and I don't like to be committed to something. However, painting is inspirational. Whenever I see something I like or imagine something I start to sketch or doodle the idea and imagine it painted on a canvas. If the results are perfect then I am going to go for it. My journey usually starts at 10 pm or whenever I feel ready. Although, I mostly paint at night. First of all, I pick the right canvas size, then I make sure my brushes are clean and I prepare them. This is to avoid any stains or a mix of colors that can ruin the painting.

Then I prepare the place where I’m going to paint. I set the colors (Acrylic or Oil) and the brushes I’m going to use. I set the gold or silver leaves ( if I’m going to use them) and the mixion glue which is used to apply the leaves. After I'm done preparing, I put on music because this helps better my mood and be more creative. Music is very useful and I feel like it guides my intentions through the brush marks and color choices. The music I listen to matches my paintings and my imagination. It's classy, catchy, and full of energy and colors. Artists I love listening to include Dean Martin, Julio Iglesias, and George Michael. Furthermore, the French artists I like are Joe Dassin, Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, and of course Dalida.

I start painting. It could take me anywhere from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours when I paint. I try to take some pictures or short videos of the process until I finish the painting. Once I’m done with the painting I keep looking at it and checking every detail and then I take pictures of it. Finally, I place the painting in a safe, dry, and cool area to dry, making sure that nothing will ruin it and prevent it from falling. Then comes the last and the hardest part which is cleaning my painting area and supplies. My brushes are the hardest to clean plus after painting, I tend to be so tired. However, cleaning the brushes is essential and they can’t be left out to dry because that could ruin them.
